The code has been broken

so i did it. I missed my stop on the metro because i was reading the da vinci code. damnit! I was riding home and I had noticed the west end stop that is 2 stops before mine. So I'm sitting there reading and thinking I had time. Then the next time I look up I see my platform pulling away as I sail north of my house. arghh! I knew that book would be the death of me.

Anyway, I finished it last night. It was a good-trash novel. I mean it's not really a work of art. Though it does make you want to look at paintings that you've seen for years a little bit closer. Last night Luke and I stood in our hallway looking at his print of the Last Supper for 20 minutes just talking about it. quite fascinating. I miss being in school and getting to take art history classes and challenge my brain for awhile.

I cannot wait to go back to school.

Anyway. things are going well. I love the new apartment. It is such a nice space and so pleasant. Luke and I have both been studying like crazy. Or more, he's been studying like crazy and I've been talking about how i should be studying like crazy. I've got the accreditation exam next Tuesday (granted I sign up to take it because i feel comfortable in my knowledge of sustainable design.). Luke's got the MCAT's on Saturday. yuck!

and then we're going to dinner and a concert with my parents. god i wish that we had cancelled that. i just do not like my father's personality when we're around nuke. It's pitiful and just makes me upset. I find myself trying really hard for everyone to get along. Or at least have a good time. I'm constantly on "fun barb" mode and after it's all said and done i don't know if anyone is really more comfortable but I know i am really exhausted.

yikes. well i gots ta get back to work.
