why is it that on days when I really can't afford to get back into bed the bed looks so much more warm and cosy than usual?

I've been up since 5am and have been studying for my first test as a graduate student and I really really really need to continue studying but my bed is calling to me. It's autumn-y outside and so the house is kind of chilly and I'm bundled up in my hoodie and sweats and would like nothing more than to crawl into bed and snooze until my test.

alas I'm not going to do that. And I think I should get extra points because Nuke has already left for school so there's not even a witness who would shake their head at me and tell me that snoozing won't help me pass the test. I'm going to keep on studying all on my own willpower. woa!
