free lunch and dinner

There are just some days in which every little thing about some people annoys the hell out of you

Today is one of those days. I was cutting and taping some plans together so that I could fit everything on to one sheet before I made copies for my 11 o’clock meeting when my boss came up. He has this horrible habit of coming up behind you and looking over your shoulder and asking, “what’s that?” or “whaaaat?” in this annoying high pitch noise that makes you just want to punch him in the gut right after your heart gets out of your throat where it had previously jumped because you did not see him sneak up behind you while you were playing on the internet. Well today when he did it I just turned to him and said “WHAT?!” in my most I’m-annoyed-with-you-and-i-really-don’t-have-time-for-your-annoying-little-habit-right-now-‘cause-i-am-trying-to-work voice.

So now I feel kind of bad but he needs to learn NOT to do that. Everyone hates it in our office and it is always one of the main topics of complaint when we go out to lunch together to bitch about work.

Pause

Okay. I just got back from lunch. The meeting I had before lunch was very interesting. It was about the kitchen and bathrooms of our newest lofts. It was interesting because of the different personalities people get when they meet and talk with different people. It just annoys me and I didn’t understand why I needed to be in on the meeting because I wasn’t needed and all that’s going to happen is Dustin is going to talk with Melanie about what selections she wants and how we’re going to get them into the spaces we have allocated. I’m just the CAD bitch and am told what to do and my opinion is very rarely taken in these matters because Dustin thinks he knows everything.

Oh and everyone gets so bitchy when ever any of their opinions are questioned that we should all just drink a bunch before having these meetings to mellow us out.

Right. Well for lunch my mom was in town and she treated me to a fabulous meal downtown. It was nice and it was fun to talk with her. She’s so pleasant when we don’t talk about things that we don’t agree on. She’s also just much more pleasant to be around when I’m not home visiting them and they are squabbling over petty stuff and trying to get me on their side. Argh! Families.

So now I’m back at work and about to work my magic on a rehab that we own. Oh it will be fun.

Tonight my company is hosting a reception for the mayor at one of lofts. The menu looks delicious and both Nuke and I are looking forward to eating and drinking like kings.
