Well it is the work week again. At least this work week is only a 3-day one. The office is actually open on Friday but I am going to be en route from Kentucky to Illinois. No stops in Missouri if I can help it. So since I’ll be en route I will not be coming in. Which is fin work-wise considering most people won’t be in and so there’d be no one here and nothing to do.
So this past weekend was nice. Friday night Nuke and I went to the glass studio and I got to make a paperweight. It looks very cool and I am still considering glass blowing as a profession should this whole architecture mumbo jumbo fall through. While there we also bought a bunch of glass as Christmas presents for people. I got this really cool vase-like piece for my aunt whom I will see over thanksgiving as she will be visiting from Pennsylvania. For Luke’s mother we got a really cool bowl that is white on the outside and a dark red on the inside. My mom is getting two really lovely glass ball ornaments that have this lovely green swirl through them. I might go ahead and give her the ornaments since she would probably enjoy them for the Christmas tree this year.
Speaking of Christmas, the loop is shimmering with the Christmas decorations. I know that it is horrible for the holiday to be taken to such an extreme commercial level every year…..but I love the feeling of Christmas time. People are walking around all bundled up in their colorful scarves and knitted hats. Oh and the rosey cheeks that everyone sports? LOVE them, namely ‘cause I look adorable with rosey cheeks.
Oh, but I was walking down Delmar yesterday with Lola and we were both being dazzled by the lights. They have them hung across the street every 40’ or so. It is so lovely. And Blue Hill has all their lights up. Ah, such a colorful season.
But enough about the loop in season. How am I? I am good. The weekend was rather on the relaxing side. I came into work for 6 hours on Saturday to catch up on some things and just to make up some time since I am not going to be here on Friday. I got a lot done, which says a lot for our office that I get more done when there is no people around.
Nothing really exciting happened Saturday night. Nuke and I watched Shrek 2 and ate some soup. Sunday morning ,after jumping Nuke while he was trying to study, we took Lola on a good 4-mile walk. Then I went to tr@der Joe’s and fell in love all over again with their reasonably priced good-for-you foods. Then I made some homemade French fried onions so that the casserole I make for turkey day possesses no hydrogenated onions. Ummm. After that we walked Lola down Delmar to return Shrek 2 to it’s rightful owner. Upon arriving home I made some delicious soft shell tacos (with non-meat ground meat) and nuke and I dined while watching laugh out loud Sunday.
Pretty much a low-key weekend. Lets hope that this upcoming weekend tops last weekend.
