visit from honey

well the craziness is over. I have been so super super busy that I cannot even comprehend time right now.
2 weekends ago Nuke and I went out to New Mexico to visit with his parents. It was really nice. the weather out there is just beautiful and in comparison to what St. Louis went through (snow storms, freezing rain, cold winds, etc) I couldn't have been happier out there. We got to do some really good hiking and ate tons of good good food. It was so relaxing and am so happy with my future in-laws.
This past weekend Nuke and I were host to one Ms Erin Nicole Lewis. It was awesome. When Erin showed up at my office Friday afternoon neither one of us could stop smiling and giggling. I skipped out early and we went home to prepare for the dinner party.
Good food, good friends, good everything. It was lovely. I wish that the Columbia people could have come in to share in the fun, but we did have great times with them on their own turf Sunday and Monday.
but before Columbia Erin and I bargain hunted with Aislinn on Saturday. I bought so many glass containers to use for the wedding flowers that I don't think we need anymore. So lovely. I also purchased a new black and white herringbone wool coat. It's really cute though I might take it in to an alteration place to see if they can make it more petite-oriented since I am of the shorter variety.
I also need to find an alterations person who can make me a wedding dress. I sort of need to get that taken care of...whoops.
anyway, back to Erin's visit. Saturday night Nuke, Erin, and I went to where garlic is king and ate like kings. Man dinner was so good. We received it in 3 courses of sampler-like plates. So much garlic that I think I am still oozing it out of my pores.
after dinner we just walked back to the apartment and crashed.
Sunday afternoon Erin and I headed to Columbia with the required pit stop at the outlet malls where we both bought new red coats. the same coat, yes, but we live on different continents so we figured it was alright.
Upon arriving in Columbia we met up with Schilly boo at his apartment where we were crashing. After chit chatting for a bit Erin and I met up with Maureen at Ragtag where A Very Long Engagement was playing. SUCH a good movie. I was worried that it was going to be Amelie 2 but it was different and the same in just the right combination that I fell in love again.
After the movie we met back up with Schilly Boo, Mo's hubbie, and a few other friends at the local microbrewery where we ate and drank and laughed for 2 hours. It was great. Erin phrased it best when she said how nice it was to look around the big table of people and realize that you like everyone you were with and they all liked each other. So nice to be among friends enjoying each others company.
Monday was the day Erin attempted 2 lunches. Pretty funny considering she is the size of my arm. But she made a valid attempt and I am ever grateful to her that she didn't veto eating at my favorite Thai place, even though she got her food to go and only had tapioca and mango sauce there. Oh but lunch was like dinner in that there were 7 of us eating and just enjoying each other. Schilly Boo and Nicki had decided to skip work at the Montessori for a "mental health" day in honor of Erin and my visit. very appropriate, I do believe.
Anywho. drove back to the Lou yesterday afternoon and had a visit from ryan reed in the evening. very enjoyable.
all in all a great weekend and now I do not want to be back at work. but I must make the money to live the life I like to lead.
