in case anyone needed further proof of what a horrible person my sister is:
My sister had a baby last night (though since she lives in Japan it was actually Friday afternoon). Her husband, Scott, called his parents a coupld of hours after the birth (3:30 this morning). Scott's dad answered the phone and was sort of out it (re: deep sleep) and so he didn't get too many details.
Scott's mom called my parents this morning around 8.
Nobody else has called my parents. My brother in law probably doesn't have their phone number memorized like he does his parent's. That's understandable.
except aren't you supposed to have some sort of plan when these things happen? Isn't there supposed to be a list of important numbers that you are to call when someone goes into labor? am I retarded in thinking that my parent's should have been notified sometime within a day of the birth of their first grandchild by their first daughter?
yes? I'm right and my sister is just a bitch? That's what I thought. but if I had any doubts they would have been cleared up when this next thing happened:
My mom was starting to get worried this afternoon about how they still hadn't heard from anyone about their grandchild. So she did what anyone else would have done who had a child giving birth out of the country: she went to the internet.
After searching for possible places where the baby could have been had she found the shapel for the naval hospital. Scott is in the Navy and so it's a good guess that is their hospital. So she gave the number to my dad. He called, got in contact with the Chapel, they got in contact with the floor that Julie's room was on, who then informed her that 'yes, she had a baby boy and why yes, she is awake, let me get her for you." so they walk into my sister's room and she says
"tell them I'll call them back later."
My sister might be feeling out of it after giving birth but there is absolutely NO EXCUSE for not even getting onto the phone with my father and telling him that yes she had a baby boy and no nothing is wrong, she's just tired.
but no. she'll just "call them back later".
i just got off the phone reassusring her that Julie was just out of it while secretly plotting in my head what I was going to do to my sister if she ever shows that sort of disrespect to your mother again.
oh the insanity that is my family.
